Nepal-Tibet Trek

A pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash the sacred mountain of Tibet is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. Mt Kaliash is the source of four great asian rivers. For Hindus it is the throne of Shiva, for Buddhists, a gigantic natural Mandala. Also the epicenter of Tantric forces for both religions. This trek takes you from the far western town of Simikot, along an old trade route into Tibet. An arid, wild, country dominated by the peaks of Api and Saipal Himal, this is the world of the Nepalese and Tibetan traders. You will encounter travelers with horses and yaks laden with goods. After a few days trek on the Nepal side we take you to Tibetan border market Purang where Nepalese, Tibetan and Indian traders meet to exchange wares. The highlight of the trip is to visit Rakshastal (Devil Lake), the holy Lake of Mansarovar, "born from the mind of Bramha", trek around the Mt. Kailash and visit the former Gu-ge kingdom with its two main centres of Toling and Tsaparang.

Upon arrival in Nepal you will stop for 3 nights in Kathmandu for visas preparation and your time will be utilized visiting the great open museum (the amazing Kathmandu valley). Then you will depart for Lhasa on China South-West Airlines with the great views of the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest, third highest mountain, Kangchenjunga and more. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the Hotel in the Lhasa for three nights stay which will help you to acclimatize for your grand tour to this inaccessible land.
Day to day itinerary:
Day 01 Transfer to Kathmandu Airport for flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival you will be met by our Tibetan agent and transferred to the Hotel
Day 02-03 Sightseeing tours in Lhasa (Potala palace, Sera Monastery, Jokhang temple and Bakhor street, Drepung Monastery)
Day 04 Drive to Shigatse (approximately 4-5 hours) following the Lhasa River. Afternoon visit the Tashilumpo Monastery. Overnight at Shigatse Hotel

Day 14 Trekking back to Driver Camp and drive to Zhangmu, overnight at hotel
Day 15 Clearing the Chinese customs, travel down to the Friendship Bridge where you re-enter Nepal and after completing the immigration formalities drive to Kathmandu (4-5 hr), transfer to the hotel. Tour ends...

After completion of the immigration formalities at Zhangmu we drive to Nyalam, the first night. Next day we continue drive to Old Tingri and start trekking to North Everest Base Camp. The trek will follow the historic expedition route from Old Tingri to Rongbuk crossing over the Langma La pass-16,900 feet. Following the route to North Everest Base Camp you will have enough time to explore the Rongbuk glacier below the massive north-face of Mt. Everest. After having the magnificent views of worlds highest mountain scenery you will be back to Kathmandu. The trek portion will be supported by a expert Nepalese Sherpa team. Our professional chef will prepare all meals and other field staff will take care of camping and transport to the supplies (camping /kitchen materials and luggage) for which we use yaks and/or truck.

Trekking in Tibet

In general, travel to Tibet represents the sightseeing tours but even the land is situated in average of above 13000 feet, this inaccessible land have lots of possibilities of trekking routes for the adventure seeker. Whether it is a pilgrimage trek or a mountain expedition, Tibet offers trekking trips from short one day to month long as per ones requirement. But the treks are not feasible in the wintertime as the temperature goes very low (-30 to -40ºF) and also the days are much shorter.
